COSPLAY CONTEST

CONTESTS ARE HELD ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON

​

• Each contestant must have a badge/wristband to this year's Colorado Springs Comic Con.

• Each contestant must adhere to the Convention’s costume and prop policies.

• All costumes in the adults tier must be at least 50% handmade OR altered.

• Each entrant in the adults tier must register to guarantee their spot. 

• Registration will take place at a table on Cosplay Row.

• We will accept 50 entrants for the Adult Division (ages 13 & up) and 25 entrants for Kids Division (ages 12 and under). 

• Entrants in the adults tier must be prepared, ready, and in costume 45 minutes before the contest.

• Entrants in the Kids Division should show up 30 minutes before.  Failure to arrive on time can result in disqualification.

• if you need any assistance you may have one person to help you. They should join you during final line up, AFTER last instructions are given.

• No nudity and no profanity.  That includes messages on signs, bad language or clothes.  Remember: this is a family friendly show!

• For safety reasons, the following isn’t allowed: projectiles of any kind (darts, pellets, or even water. NOTHING should come out of your weapon), aerosol spray, pyrotechnics including but not limited to fire, smoke, or fireworks.

• No mess is to be left on stage after your presentation.

• No specific audio will be played for each contestant.

• Violators of any of these rules may be disqualified from the contest.

 

Judging

 

Surprise the audience! Surprise the judges! But do not surprise the Contest Organizer.

 

Anything you want to do to captivate the audience/judges should be given the OK by the Contest Organizer and above all HAVE FUN!

 

Contestants will be judged in the following criteria: Workmanship/Overall Appearance - Originality/Stage Presence
